A 3G wifi router uses signal from mobile networks and not uses an Ethernet cord. Its distinct advantage is that its movable to any place and you can create your own network provided you have a 3G signal. They also have their own battery power supplies. Several leading manufacturers have been designing 3G wifi routers for home or office purposes. 4G Wifi routers

4G routers have faster internet connection. They are successors to the 3G technology and therefore are called fourth generation networks.

Long range Wifi router

A long range wifi router is commonly used for long range wifi networks. An outdoor long range wifi network can be expanded to many kilometers between stations with the use of directional antennas. In business applications, it can be used to provide network coverage to a large business complex, provide point-to-point link between various buildings or share a neighborhood network, among others. They also find usage in government, military and scientific research applications. 

There are numerous ways to increasing range by using differentiated wifi channels, power addition or receiver sensitivity hike and advanced gain antennas.

There are also hindrances to long range wifi including landscape disturbance and tidal fading.
